Conor Sturgess - Q3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

We ended up choosing the independent company Lionsgate to distribute our film. Even though through our audience research we found out that at least 60% would rather watch a mainstream movie to an independent, we still chose to stick with lionsgate.  
However, I do believe our film does fit into the mainstream as well as independent. This is due to our low production costs we would face later on and our narrative seems like the typical mainstream movie.

Lionsgate is known globally for distributing mainstream movies, but yet having independent studios at the same time. Some famous mainstream movies Lionsgate has distributed are American Psycho and Saw 2.  We believed our film fitted into this system perfectly as we still have some aspects of being mainstream as well as independent.
